Established in 1979, the Buffalo Cooperative FCU is a financial cooperative. The BCFCU pools the deposits of the commiunity and makes them available as fairly priced loans.  The income generated from loans is used to provide equitable, afordable transaction services to the membership, as well as to pay dividnends on member deposits.

The credit union keeps money circulating locally.
